Working on the Ottawa River through out the summer is a great time. Its the perfect river for teaching, there’s always good friends to paddle with and you can playboat your brains out, but it does nothing for that “itch” that paddlers get once they’ve been on a serious creeking mission. So, what to do if you find your self with an itch to go creeking and your in the middle of playboaters paradise.... don’t panic! Its actually a lot closer then you think. If your willing to drive a couple hours there is a plethora of potential runs. Just cross the river over into Quebec and you have a number of park & hucks or full river runs that run into the Ottawa river. For a little more effort you can cross the border into the USA and take advantage of all the great creeking to be had in up state New york.
